WORD UNSCRAMBLER
words found
Finds every word formable from any subset of your letters (each letter used at most as many times as you typed it). Dictionary: 320,000+ English words (including plural forms).
How the unscrambler works
The tool treats your letters as a multiset — each letter can be used at most as many times as you entered it — and tests all 320,000 dictionary words against it in a few milliseconds, right in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. Results are grouped by length, longest first, because in almost every word game longer means more points: a seven-letter word in Scrabble earns a 50-point bingo bonus, and long finds win anagram duels outright.
Unscrambling tactics worth stealing
- Hunt suffixes and prefixes first. -ING, -ERS, -EST, RE-, UN- : spotting a common chunk collapses the search space instantly.
- Vowel-to-consonant ratio decides your ceiling. Seven letters with one vowel rarely make a seven-letter word; know when to hunt 4s and 5s instead.
- S is the multiplier. One S often doubles your word count — every 4-letter find becomes a 5-letter plural.
- Learn the two-letter words. In tile games they're the connective tissue that makes the big plays land.
Questions people actually ask
What dictionary does this unscrambler use?
A 320,000-word English dictionary covering words from 2 to 12 letters. It's deliberately permissive — better to see a word and judge it than never see it.
Can I use blank tiles or wildcards?
Not yet — enter the letters you actually have. Wildcard support is on the roadmap.
Does it work for Scrabble and Words With Friends?
Yes — it finds every formable word and groups by length. Official tournament word lists differ slightly between games, so double-check obscure finds against your game's dictionary.
Is my input sent anywhere?
No. The dictionary loads into your browser once and all solving happens locally. Nothing you type leaves your device.
