How to solve a Jumble faster (with or without the tool)
Daily Jumbles are almost always 5- or 6-letter everyday words, and the puzzle's difficulty comes from one trick: your brain locks onto the scrambled order. Break the lock by re-writing the letters in a circle or alphabetically - SIG-sorting is literally what this solver does internally: every word is indexed by its alphabetized letters, so RTAEW and WATER share the key aertw and the answer is a single lookup.
For the final-answer bonus (the circled letters), solve the four small words first, collect the circled letters, and drop them into the solver - the exact-answer row is your punchline word. The sub-anagram lists below it are for checking partial ideas.
Questions people actually ask
What is a Jumble puzzle?
The classic newspaper word game: 4–6 everyday words are scrambled, and circled letters from the answers form a final punny phrase. This solver handles both stages.
Why does my jumble show more than one answer?
Some letter sets form several valid words (STOP/POTS/SPOT/TOPS). The puzzle wants the one that fits the final answer's circled letters - context picks the winner.
Can it solve two-word jumble answers?
Not in one shot yet - solve the halves separately. Multi-word solving is on the roadmap.
Is this the same as an anagram solver?
Same engine, tuned for the Jumble workflow: exact answers first and big obvious buttons for daily-puzzle speed. The anagram solver shows deeper sub-anagram lists.
